Summary of Role:
Game Artists create visual elements of a game using software packages.
The role requires both technical skills and a creative flair.
Artists will work as part of a team with other departments including Animators, Designers and Developers.
Within Gaming there are many fields of specialisation for an artist including 2D & 3D, Lighting Artist , Environment Artist and Character artist.
Artists will also work on design from concept stage, so need to have the ability to run with nothing more than an idea, for a new character for example and turn a basic sketch into a fully detailed design.

What are the job duties of a Game Artist?
- Create high-quality artwork for a game, such as characters or environments.
- Create designs and characters using Adobe Illustrate, Adobe photoshop, Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop and Substance
- Preparing and optimising textures
- Work with other game artists, as well as other departments including Designers, Animators, Developers and the marketing team.
- Implement feedback from the art lead by making amendments to the artwork produced.
- Work to deadlines to help the team to produce the game on schedule.
