Quality Manager - Building - Construction - Leeds / Yorkshire

Role:

As a Quality Manager, you will ensure all quality systems are in place and properly executed throughout the projects, offices and / or businesses that you are responsible for, including but not limited to ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ensuring all staff are trained and aware of how the company's BMS (Business Management System) integrates with ISO 9001.

A knowledge of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 to assist in compliance of those standards through company BMS. Undertaking regular internal / external auditing, and ensuring continuous improvement to quality systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an intermediary between businesses within their nominated Region and the BMS to include recording and reporting on BMS feedback.
  • The SQM will manage the overall audit programs for the region and interact with other Regional Quality Managers to identify trends and improvements.
  • Act as a facilitator on External 3rd Party audits (Currently BSI) carried out within their Region, to ensure compliance with the ISO Standards and our BMS.
  • Plan, manage, and carry out the Regional internal audit program. Carry out the audits. Reporting on all findings including good practice, nonconformances, and observations. Provide feedback to other projects on quality issues.
  • Maintain list of trained auditors include review of reports and feedback as part of career development.
  • Carry out Supplier Audits within your region when required to include carrying out audits, reporting on all findings including good practice.
  • Represent the company at client audits (2nd party audits).
  • Manage the Management Review programme within the scope for the BMS and region.
  • Assist the Bid and the Project Managers establish and update the FM-IM-001 Project Information Plan and arrange random sampling audits of projects and the record retention held on Viewpoint and Fieldview.
  • Provide Quality management performance feedback: Attend quarterly Quality manager reviews share best practice, feedback provided to the businesses via the Managing Director.
  • Provide Quality input into Tenders.
  • Attend Technical, Safety & Environmental and Review meetings at site start up. Assist with Project Quality and
  • Inspection & Test Plans (ITP’s) from subcontractors advising on input to the content and agree / approve for use on site when complete.
  • Work with the projects to ensure the subcontractors act on their ITP’s giving us a high quality workmanship and zero defects.
  • Audit and test Business Continuity Process in offices and Projects in accordance with the approved Business
  • Continuity Validation programme.
  • Incorporate activities derived from procedure change through the BMS.
  • Support the coaching, training and development of all regional employees, in quality assurance and the use of our BMS.
  • Work with projects to ensure any Nonconformance is investigated, analysed and root cause identified, with actions put in place to prevent re-occurrence.

Location:

Can be based from offices in either Leeds or Normanton to suit, with some remote working also. Local Yorkshire projects.

 

Requirements: 

To be considered for this Quality Manager role you must meet the following criteria:

- Previous employment as a Quality Manager / Quality Engineer / Quality Advisor / Site Manager / Project Manager or similar.
- Ideally Previous experience working in a Building  Sector environment. (May also consider quality managers transferring over from Housing or Civils sectors).
- High level of communication skills. 

-Relevant industry qualification.
