Our client, a leading top tier building main contractor seeking a BIM Designer to join their in-house engineering services team providing mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (MEICA) expertise on on Civil engineering projects such as Water / Waste Water, Highways, Aviation, Telecomms and Rail.

Role Overview:

As a CAD/BIM Designer you are responsible for the generation of both 2D or 3D outputs, produced to the highest standards & in line with the company Business Management (Quality Assurance) System (BMS) using the latest technologies and software available.

Key Responsibility for the preparation & amendment of drawings including:

  • PFD’s & P&ID’s
  • Site layouts & plans
  • General arrangements, detailed sections & plans
  • Single line diagrams.
  • To ensure that drawings are completed on time to meet the programme as agreed with the design & project teams (i.e. for feasibility, target cost, construction and as built stages of the project).
  • That any revisions to drawings are correctly recorded using Common Data Environment (CDE). 
  • To maintain the drawings & all subsequent iterations electronically within an agreed CDE.
  • Ensure the relevant deliverables have been listed for all drawings related to the project.
  • The printing & preparation of drawings are compiled to meet project requirements (i.e. throughout the design phases, during construction and at handover to the client).
  • Configuration & implementation of CAD software including liaison with IT personnel & external collaborators to provide an integrated solution.
  • To generate drawings of an acceptable quality.

Requirements: 

To be considered for this BIM Designer / CAD role you must meet the following criteria:

- Ideally previous employment as a CAD Technician, CAD Manager, BIM Manager, BIM Coordinator, Design Co-ordinator, BIM Designer or BIM Technician.
- Ideally previous experience in Civils sector projects such as Water / Waste Water, Rail, Telcomms, Aviation, Highways, Civil Engineering
-Experience and knowledge in Building Information Modelling
- High level of communication skills. 
- Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc). 
-Ideally previous experience in an M&E environment (in water or waste water)

-Proficient in the use of AutoCAD & Revit with Plant P&ID capability

Remuneration:

The successful BIM Designer will receive:

*£35,000 - £40,000 (Dependant on experience)
*Car / Allowance
