Bid Writer -  Construction / Buildings - Great Opportunity for Good Work / Life Balance. 

Location: Guildford & Remote working

Opportunity to join one of the UK's most successful Tier 1 building main contractors working on a range of public and private sector building projects.

They are bidding for interesting multi-million pound construction projects (Schools, Hospitals, Offices, Hotels & PRS). (Also open to consider candidates transferring experience over from other sectors such as Civil Engineering or Power).

Location:

Role will be split between their office in Guildford and remote (home working).

 

Role Overview:

The Bid Writer is tasked with the creation of effective yet imaginative responses to pre-qualification and tender questionnaires; working with other stakeholders from around the division to acquire pertinent information and data. The Bid Writer will promote the business, through high quality written submissions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write high-quality winning proposal documents, to including producing, coordinating and editing written content
  • Manage the submissions process where required
  • Contribute to the bid team at key stages of individual tender projects, gathering technical information from internal departments to compile and ensure a high-quality bespoke solution is offered to the client
  • Actively participate in story boarding and development of strategic themes
  • Ensure all proposals are prepared in line with tender programme requirements
  • Ensure submissions are produced are to the highest quality and aligned with company bid management standards
  • Be responsible for proofreading material and providing technical and commercial writing skills
  • Assist with development of bespoke proposals, best practice information, technique guides, template answers and style sheets
  • Build and develop relationships with key business sector teams       
  • Produce high-quality documents and submissions in line with identified deadlines
  • Analysis and review of previous submissions and document learning for implementation in future bids
  • Produce promotional/marketing materials and award submissions
  • Manage the submission content as part of the wider bid process
  • Assemble and shape construction information into compelling submissions
  • Write and edit pre-qualification documents
  • Write and edit capability statements and expression of interest documents
  • Liaise with the wider Pre-construction team for technical content
  • Create and edit presentations
  • Capture and collate evidence to support submissions

 

Requirements: 

To be considered for this Bid Writer vacancy you will likely have the following attributes:

- You Strive for High Quality and take pride in your work.
- Previous employment as a Bid Writer, Bid Manager, Proposals Manager, Proposals Engineer, Submissions Manager, Tender Writer, Bid Author or Bid Coordinator.
- Ideally Previous Main Contractor employment, alternatively candidates with previous employer with Subcontractors and Consultancies will also be considered.

- Ideally previously work on Building or Civils sector projects.

- Preferably degree qualified in a subject with a high focus on creating high quality written work

 -Writing, editing and proof reading submissions, including working on major tenders and framework submissions

-Working on multiple concurrent tenders and managing own workload to ensure deadlines are achieved

- Exceptional writing, editing, and copy-writing skills

- Excellent English language (vocabulary), grammar and communication skills

- Adaptable to deal with changing project requirements and deadlines

- Familiarity with Microsoft and other desktop publishing software packages

 

 

Remuneration:


The successful Bid Writer will receive:

*£30,000 - £55,000 Basic (Dependent on experience)
*Plus company car or Car Allowance (Includes Electric Car options)

*28 days holiday + banks + options to buy more days.
