BID MANAGER – NORTH EAST or YORKSHIRE - BUILDING / CONSTRUCTION

(Also open to consider Design Managers, Planners, Preconstruction Project Managers or similar transferring experience over into this role).

 

LOCATION

Option to be based out of their North East or West Yorkshire office, plus some remote work.


COMPANY:

Opportunity for a Bid Manager to join one of the UK’s busiest Tier 1 building main contractors.

This company are a very stable employer to join, working on several long term stable public sector frameworks, bidding for projects including Schools, Hospitals, MOD and MOJ.

ROLE:

As Bid Manager your role will include:

To lead and be actively involved in the bidding of construction (non-civil engineering) projects ranging in value from £5m - £70m using a variety of procurement routes including traditional, single stage D&B, two stage D&B, framework, negotiated and competitive dialogue.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As bid manager your duties will include:

  • Lead and managing strategically important/business critical individual project and framework bids;
  • Ownership and accountability for the performance and deliverables of specific Bid Teams and act as Main “Point of Contact” with Client/Design Team;
  • Setting, managing and leading bid strategy/win themes; bid programme development; allocation of deliverables; bid settlement process and client interviews
  • Formulating, developing and facilitating risk identification, mitigation and alternative proposals inc. value engineering and optioneering;
  • Input into the planning and programming and the development of construction methodologies;
  • Assist Preconstruction Manager with bid evaluation and the allocation / appropriate level of team resources to bids.

REQUIREMENTS: 

To be considered for this Bid Manager vacancy you will likely have the following attributes:

- Previous employment as a Bid Writer, Bid Manager, Proposals Manager, Proposals Engineer, Submissions Manager, Tender Writer, Bid Author or Bid Coordinator.
- Ideally Previous Main Contractor employment, alternatively candidates with previous employer with Subcontractors and Consultancies will also be considered.

-Good understanding and knowledge of bid management 

-Ideal candidate will have a construction related HND, degree (or equivalent) with excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

The successful Bid Manager will receive:

*Competitive Basic (Dependent on experience)
*Car Allowance
