How did you first get into Bid Management?

"This came about as an extension of the planning role as I knew the expectations of the pre-construction roles and functions".

 

What personal qualities do you think are essential to be a good Bid Manager?

"Team player, calm authority, ability to deal with pressure, able to view the big picture, good eye for spotting errors"

 

What is the worst thing / difficulties about your job?

"Everything comes together at the last minute, so making sure everybody understands their deliverables so the bid is complete and compliant"

 

What is the best thing about your job?

"Managing a successful tender"

 

What would be your biggest tip for someone looking to become a Bid Manager?

"Understand the different pre-construction roles and how you can most effectively use them".
