Role:

Looking for someone who will lead by example, whilst working closely with the project teams to deliver Projects of the highest quality adhering to strict ‘right first time’ delivery model.

Role report to head of HSQE.

 

Responsibilities:

Audits & Compliance

  • Undertake regular monthly audits – develop and monitor audit programme
  • Produce audit reports; report on trend analysis; develop and implement rectification strategies
  • Set timetable for observations; NCRs clearance and check that completed
  • Publish monthly reports for review at Regional Board and Business Unit review meetings
  • Review quality systems of supply chain partners.

 

Technical support to tender & project teams

  • Undertake review of tender or project
  • Provide support during the tender or project design process and attend DTM’s if applicable
  • Arrange and manage technical and practical workshops with design consultants; site teams and supply chain prior to and during the installation of the high risk works on a project.
  • Ensure sub-contractors and suppliers are aware of their quality requirements and identify, communicate and mitigate key risks
  • Review subcontract test and inspection plans and educate the site team on the implications
  • Undertake site inspection of the works during construction and advise site team on any quality or design detailing issues etc… raise immediately with Project Manager and support the site team to complete relevant site observation or NCR reports
  • Participate in Client, Design or Subcontract meetings to discuss or review design or technical issues.
  • Attend Quality pre-start or other quality related meetings with the supply chain.
  • Interface with company aligned contractors and suppliers to support them to deliver quality products that meet our expectations and project requirements.
  • Work with projects to ensure any Non-conformance is investigated, analysed and root cause identified, with actions put in place to prevent re-occurance.

 

General duties

  • Provide or arrange training for staff/sub-contractors on trend analysis and lessons learnt during the site visits/audits.
  • Capture lessons learnt and feedback into the preconstruction process
  • Represent the Business Unit at the Divisional Quality Management meetings and support/participate other suitable company initiatives.
  • Prepare for and represent the company at Client or Framework Quality inspections or meetings.

Location:

Projects can be nationwide (predominately midlands and north), so flexibility to travel is required.

Role will be mix of site visits and remote working. Ideally seeking candidates based in the Midlands / North West or Yorkshire.

 

Requirements: 

To be considered for this Quality Manager role you must meet the following criteria:

- Previous employment as a Quality Manager / Quality Advisor / Quality Engineer or similar.
- Previous experience working on civil engineering, highways, bridges or rail is required.
- High level of communication skills. 

-Relevant industry qualification.
