Clerk of Works - High Rise Residential

Role:
Working on housing and high rise residential projects, to ensure high standards / quality are delivered, with particular focus on packages such as Cladding and Steel Frame.

Duties:
- To fully comprehend the detailed requirements of all drawings and specifications.
- To visit on a regular basis sites and properties in order to:-
- Check that the works are being carried out in accordance with the drawings and specification.
- Monitor quality of materials and workmanship on a package specific basis.
- Liaise with all subcontractors, and resolve swiftly technical queries, problems, etc. that may arise.
- Carry out spot checks on installations.
- Try to anticipate and foresee difficulties on site and advise in good time so that the necessary instructions can be issued.
- Take photographic evidence of works progress where necessary to record good practice, condition, events or deviations from the drawings and specification
- Provide regualr progress and inspection reports
- Ensure all works are completed satisfactorily so that a Certificate of Making Good Defects can be issued
- Undertake pre-handover quality inspections (“snagging” and “back snagging” etc.).
Requirements:
To be considered for this Clerk of Works role you must meet the following criteria:
- Knowledge of Housing / Building Sector.
- Ideally previous employment as a Clerk of Works. Candidates looking to transfer into role from a site management or design background may also be considered.
- Previous experience / knowledge in building sector projects such as Commercial, Mixed Use, Residential, Apartment Blocks, Student Accommodation, Hotels, Extra Care Housing, MOJ, Industrial, Education or Healthcare.
-Strong understanding / experience of Cladding and / or steel frame.
-Ideally previous high rise residential experience (Flats / Apartments etc)
- Previous Main Contractor employment would be ideal but not essential, candidates will also be considered from Subcontractors and Project Management Consultancies.
- Good communication skills.
- Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).
Remuneration:
The successful Clerk of Works will receive:
*£45,000 - £55,000 Basic (Dependent on experience)
