Our client, a leading top tier building main contractor is looking to recruit a BIM Manager / BIM Coordinator to provide a technical link between their Design Consultants, Bidding teams and Project teams to ensure a consistent approach to implementation and development of Building Information Modelling within the Business.

Role Overview:

As BIM Coordinator you will support the delivery of BIM requirements on projects and take an active involvement in the promotion, development and delivery of BIM within the Building East Midlands team. This will involve handling, coordinating and federating BIM models and data and taking responsibility for the management of information in the Common Data Environment and checking for compliance with Project BIM standards.

Key Duties
 

Key responsibilities for the BIM (Building Information Modelling) Coordinator will include:

  • Manage the collection, presentation and storage of BIM data and deliverables taking into account the company BIM processes and protocols
  • Actively liaise with other BIM leads in the business and represent business unit on BIM related matters
  • Actively explore and pursue connections between BIM and the on-site activities, enhancing the awareness of its capabilities and encouraging interaction and use
  • Share knowledge and experiences amongst the business unit through briefings/demonstrations, training workshops and schedules of lessons learnt
  • Assist with the implementation of supporting software for BIM within Building, including training
  • Assist with the evaluation of new BIM related software and technologies specific to Building
  • Stay informed on best practices for use of BIM design, validation and data collection software
  • Stay informed on other BIM related software ie) model visualisation, 4D, 5D & clash resolution
  • Responsible for BIM standards development, implementation within Building East Midlands
  • Manage the co-ordination of BIM related information between the interested parties
  • Establish and implement control procedures to check and monitor the accuracy and completeness of data entries and the ‘Level of Development’ (LOD) being produced by designers against the project protocol
  • Establish and implement control procedures to check and monitor model federation, clash reports and clash resolution. 
  • Where required by the project, arrange, run and record BIM Co-ordination Workshops and Model Co-ordination meetings. Compile individual discipline models/design information and federate into multi-disciplinary model information. Arrange for appropriate clash reports to design out clashes in the model (virtual) environment managing and recording their closure
  • Engage with site team and where of assistance arrange the setting - up and sharing of views, sections and walk-throughs within the models that will enhance their understanding of the build requirements and help support health and safety initiatives
  • Lead the integration and co-ordination of supply chain information into the BIM environment
  • Report on the progress of BIM for project Design Team Meetings, Contract Review Meetings and Client Progress Meetings
  • Carry out validation checks on the model for handover, that they contain the agreed level of information and in the format required
  • Make arrangements for the final production of the as-built model deliverables, including data file
  • Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops for BIM; bringing back learning and disseminating the information to appropriate teams

Requirements:

To be considered for this BIM Co-ordinator role you must meet the following criteria:

- Knowledge of Building Sector.
- Ideally previous employment as a BIM Manager, BIM Coordinator, Design Co-ordinator, D&B Coordinator, D&B Manager, Design Manager, Engineer, Structural engineer, Technician or Architect.
- Ideally previous experience in building sector projects such as Commercial, Mixed Use, Residential, Apartment Blocks, Student Accommodation, Hotels, Social Housing, Extra Care Housing, MOJ, Industrial, Education or Healthcare.
-Experience and knowledge in Building Information Modelling 
-Ideally have an understanding of Autodesk Autocad, Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
- High level of communication skills. 
- Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).

Remuneration:

The successful BIM Coordinator will receive:

*£25,000 - £40,000 (Dependant on experience)
*Car / Allowance
